Chinese New Year: A Brief Guide To Chinese Astrology

Chinese New Year is on the way you beautiful people!
Chinese New Year, also known as the Spring festival is the biggest celebration in the Chinese calendar.
While our new year lasts a day, last year’s new year period started on the 25th of January and ended with a bang, literally lots of fireworks, on the 20th of February.
This year, Chinese New Year starts of 4th of February and ends on 22nd of February The big day for celebration is the 12th of February so now is the perfect time to get ready!
To celebrate, thousands gather to partake in dances, watch fireworks shows, and eat delicious food.
The Chinese Year follows a lunar calendar while we use a Gregorian. This new year starts because of the new moon.

Chinese Astrology
As well as following the cycle of the moon calendar, Chinese astrology is largely based on the zodiac. Typically, I often speak about the 12 zodiac signs of Aries, Taurus, Gemini, Cancer, Leo, Virgo, Libra, Scorpio, Saggitarius, Capricorn, Aquarius, and Pisces.
That said, there are also 12 signs in Chinese astrology, however, it’s a 12-year cycle, instead of a 12-month cycle that we know and the signs are animals!
There is Rat, Ox, Tiger, Rabbit, Dragon, Snake, Horse, Sheep, Monkey, Rooster, Dog and Pig.
2021 is the year of the Ox.
Each sign has specific traits that those born during the year can relate to. Those born during the year of the ox are said to be loyal, determined, and stubborn at times.
