Essential Oils for Self-Love and Confidence

As we have focused on self-love, care, and appreciation throughout this month I couldn’t help but think about all the little things that bring a little bit of luxuriousness into my life. Essential oils are one of those things. I truly believe in their healing and calming properties, and that they can significantly affect our mental and emotional well-being. So here are my 5 essential oils that I believe improve your mood, confidence, and have you feeling as beautiful inside as you are on the outside!

Jasmine: This tried and true aroma has an uplifting quality that truly improves your mental energy. Jasmine has often been used as an anti-depressive aroma and has been commonly drunk as an herbal tea for centuries. When consumed it has many antioxidants and metabolism-boosting benefits. Jasmine can really do it all.

Bergamot: Citrusy and bright but also herbal and clean - bergamot will bring a sense of serenity into your life. When inhaled it is shown to lower inflammation in the body and improve people’s mood. Also another great multipurpose oil, bergamot can be consumed as a tea to aid in digestion and calm a nervous stomach.

Ylang-Ylang: An aroma is scientifically proven to boost your happiness and put a pep in your step. This unique scent will help alleviate your anxiety, and can also be used for a stimulating scalp massage for a little extra love. Ylang-Ylang has a floral yet fruity note (some even say it smells slightly of banana) and is the perfect oil to use in your hair.

Patchouli: An earthy, smoky, warming aroma - with a bit of spice. Patchouli will create a relaxing and calming atmosphere. It can be enjoyed solely as a fragrance to elevate your space and atmosphere but it can also be consumed (make sure to dilute it in the form of a tea or with warm water!). Patchouli is also commonly used as a calming tea and is also a light painkiller. So if you’re feeling a little sore or run down, give yourself some T–L-C with a hot cup of tea.
